Emil was born and raised in Östersund, Sweden in 1985. Educated in Architecture at Stockholm Royal Institute of Technology, Accademia d’architettura in Mendrisio, Switzerland and at The Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Educated in Architectural conservation at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
